How we make money
Comparing is free for you. When you choose a product through us, the provider usually pays us commission. That is the whole model, and it is why you never pay a fee to use this site.
Commission
Providers pay us a percentage of the premium for insurance products, or a fixed fee per completed application for money products. The amount varies by provider and product. What it never varies is the order you see: results are ranked by the basis stated at the top of every results page, and commission plays no part in it.
Advertising
Some providers pay for labelled placements. Every paid entry carries an Ad label, and paid placement never moves a product above the position its price and terms earned. If an advert appears out of merit order in a future feature, it will be separated from the ranked list and clearly marked.
Credit broking
For credit products such as cards, loans and mortgages we act as a credit broker, not a lender. We introduce you to providers; the agreement is between you and them.
Our panel
We list every provider that takes part in this demonstration panel, and we say how many that is on each results page. It is not the whole market: some providers choose not to appear on comparison services, and we name the ones we work with so you can check them directly.
