Terms of service
Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, booking a session, applying as a tutor, or using One Education, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform.
We may update these terms as the service develops. When changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to make users aware before the updated terms take effect.
The platform
One Education provides a marketplace that connects UK parents and students with tutors for online learning sessions. The platform also includes an AI study assistant designed to support revision and between-session practice.
We provide tools for account management, tutor discovery, booking, payment, calendar coordination, session follow-up, and support. We do not guarantee a particular academic outcome.
Parent and student accounts
Parent accounts are responsible for booking sessions, managing payment, and supervising student platform use. Student access is intended for UK secondary school students in Y7-Y11 and should be created or approved by a parent or guardian.
Parents are responsible for ensuring account details are accurate, students attend sessions appropriately, and any safeguarding or support concerns are raised promptly.
Tutor accounts
Tutors must provide accurate application details, complete required certification steps, follow safeguarding and conduct obligations, and submit DBS information for review where requested.
Tutors must act professionally, keep student data confidential, communicate clearly, and only use One Education tools and approved channels for platform-related tutoring.
Payments
Parent tutoring sessions are currently priced at £25 per session. AI assistant plans will be shown clearly before any subscription is taken. One Education applies a platform fee to tutor session payments, with tutor payouts managed through the platform.
Payment is required before a tutoring session is confirmed. Prices, taxes where applicable, and any recurring charges will be shown before checkout.
Cancellations and refunds
Parents may request to cancel or rearrange a tutoring session by contacting One Education as soon as possible. If a cancellation is made more than 24 hours before the agreed session time, we will offer a refund or a rescheduled session where practical.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the agreed session time may not be refundable unless there are exceptional circumstances or the tutor is unable to attend. Refunds are returned to the original payment method where possible.
Tutor no-shows
If a tutor does not attend a confirmed session, the parent should contact One Education promptly. We will review the circumstances and offer either a replacement session, a rescheduled session with the same tutor, or a refund.
Tutors who miss sessions without reasonable explanation may have their profile restricted, suspended, or removed from the platform.
Prohibited conduct
Users must not misuse the platform, attempt to bypass payments, share another person's personal data without permission, harass or abuse others, impersonate another person, upload harmful content, interfere with platform security, or use the service unlawfully.
We may restrict, suspend, or close accounts that breach these terms or create safety, legal, payment, or operational risk.
Limitation of liability
One Education aims to provide a reliable, careful service, but the platform is provided on an as-available basis. We are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate user information, third-party provider outages, missed sessions, or use of the platform outside these terms.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or statutory rights that cannot be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer protection rules say otherwise.
