One Education is a UK tutoring platform for parents, students, tutors, and internal administrators. For this draft policy, One Education is the data controller for platform account data, booking records, tutor applications, and service communications.

We collect account information including names, email addresses, passwords in hashed form, parent and student relationships, a child's name and year group, and tutor application details such as university, subjects, year groups, onboarding progress, DBS review status, and availability preferences.

We may process booking records, selected subjects, session times, payment references, session summaries, support messages, and calendar connection data. Payment card data is handled by Stripe and is not stored by One Education.

We use personal data to create and manage accounts, match families with tutors, process bookings, send service emails, show availability, operate tutor onboarding, maintain platform safety, support payments, and improve the reliability of the service.

We also use data to comply with legal obligations, investigate platform misuse, respond to support requests, and keep parents, students, tutors, and administrators informed about sessions.

We share only what is needed with service providers that help operate One Education. These include Stripe for payments, Resend for transactional emails, Google for calendar connection and invites, Fireflies.ai for session recording and summaries where enabled, and a DBS provider for tutor safeguarding checks.

We may also share information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the safety of students, parents, tutors, and the platform.

We keep account data while an account remains active and for a reasonable period afterwards in case it is needed for legal, safety, accounting, dispute, or safeguarding reasons. Booking and payment records may be kept for financial reporting and compliance.

Tutor application and DBS review records are kept only as long as needed for onboarding, safeguarding, and platform assurance, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Under UK GDPR, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain uses of your data.
